Welcome to Bryher Court Nursing Home

Who We Are

About us....

Bryher Court Nursing Home is a handsome Edwardian house set in a lovely residential area of St Leonards, Hastings in East Sussex.  Privately owned and managed by local people. We are not part of a large, impersonal group of homes. Our Management team have a wealth of knowledge when it comes to taking care of our residents’ needs.

Our Manager has over 25 years of experience in Nursing Homes,  she oversees our team of around 60 nursing and auxilliary staff. They have collectively helped Bryher Court achieve “GOOD” from the Care Quality Commission in the category of Caring.  It takes a long time to build a good team and we have staff who have been with us for many years and would not dream of working anywhere else.

The management of Bryher Court Nursing Home is committed to delivering the highest possible standards of nursing care to all our residents in a pleasant homely environment covering many conditions and needs. We provide good traditional food along with support and encouragement to maintain independence as long as possible.

We are here to help and will welcome the opportunity of discussing any questions you may have about what we do and who our service is aimed at assisting.

We are a Nursing Care Home, we are able to help with many aspects of care for the elderly including some dementia care.  All our residents are individuals with different needs and we will always assess potential residents to ensure we can meet their particular requirements.  All assessments are carried out by our experienced Nursing Team led by our Deputy Manager, who will be pleased to assist you and answer any questions you may have.  Many of our residents come through recommendation either from relatives and friends of our satisfied residents or from caring professionals. Bryher Court has a good reputation and is respected in the community by professional such as Adult Social Care, Doctors, Hospitals, the hospice and others.

Philosophy of Care

We believe that each patient is a unique person, with individual needs and, as such, is entitled to skilled and sensitive care, delivered with compassion, courtesy and understanding.  We welcome close involvement of family and friends in our residents’ care.  Emotional, social, religious and cultural needs will be respected and promoted.  Residents are encouraged to be fully involved in their care, their right to privacy will be respected at all times.

By providing a home from home – not only for our valued clients (the residents) but for their friends and family, we have an ideal setting in which to provide high quality, person centred care. We are aided by the fact that Bryher Court was built as a family home. It has character. It has homely traditional features which our residents are familiar with and enjoy.

Our aim is to make friends and family welcome because we want them to visit and spend time with their loved ones. We want people to feel at ease with us, to like us and to trust us. In that way we can pull together and do our best for our residents.

#

We will do our utmost to offer kindness and respect to our residents and thus make them feel wanted, important to us and part of our Bryher Court community.

Events and Activities

Throughout the year, we provide our residents with seasonal activities and events to make sure there’s always something exciting to look forward to at Bryher Court Nursing Home.

We also offer daily activities which can be enjoyed in the lounge or if you prefer to stay in your room, our Activities Co-ordinator will come to you.

We also welcome external entertainers and activities into the home.

It’s just one of the things that sets our Nursing Home apart from the rest. We’re passionate about providing opportunities for our residents to make new memories and friends while enjoying our services.

Nutritional and Dietary Requirements

Meals are always a high point of each day. We offer a wide range of traditional Food, with special themed dining from around the world. A full range of meals is available from our well-equipped kitchen and suggestions are always welcome. Good food is important to health.

We use quality ingredients such as local fresh vegetables, free range eggs and locally caught fresh fish. We have been using the same local butcher for over 20 years.

Our cooks know how to prepare tasty nutritious meals from scratch and their food is well liked by our residents – and quite a few visitors and staff! We do not serve premade dinners that are simply reheated in the home!

Special dietary requirements are catered for. Meals are available for visitors on request. There is always a choice for every meal. The menu is simply a suggestion – patients can order alternative meals if they wish.
